Review: Antipodes Saviour Skin Balm

Antipodes Saviour Skin Balm 75g MYR 178

Though I have heard of Antipodes many months ago, I didn't really get the opportunity to try them...until recently. I was actually hunting for an "all in one" balm, in hopes to treat my dry lips, hands and feet. And this one fits perfectly in what I was looking for...well, except for its price! Let's see if this perfect remedy played well for me...

Revisiting Vitamin C for Skin

Image from beautywidbrainz.com

A year ago, I started using topical Vitamin C from Marie Veronique for my skin and the results was fabulous. Read my review HERE. Unfortunately, early this year, I was plagued by eczema and thus, I have to stop using this, in fear that this might provoke more sensitivity to my skin.

My poor little jar was left sitting at the corner for months and my heart aches a little during those months because I was actually feeling afraid that it will go bad. I really hate to see something being so expensive being thrown into the bin.

Finally, after I've recovered, I went back to this little gem again. Now, does it still gives me the same amazing results as before?

Review: Renouve Anti-Aging Hand Sanitizer

Renouve Anti-Aging Every Day Defense Hand Sanitizer 30ml USD 29.00

I can't really remember if I have won anything in my life..... until I won this product as part of a giveaway from Vivawoman. I literally went hysterical! I was so happy when I received this, mainly because it comes from my favourite blogger, Sesame. Confession....this is an overdue post ( yes, I received this in April ). Yikes!

I am one that is quite particular when it comes to hygiene. Who doesn't, right? In my bag, I always carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer and baby wipes. I always use this before I start my meals, after a visit to the toilet or when I knew I touched something dirty.( Sometimes, I usually use both the wipes and sanitizer to wipe the hotel's toilet seat before use.) Though they may look clean, you will never know that they may be swimming with unknown bacteria on the surface.

Gosh, I cringe at the thought of it. :P Ok...let's just stop the thought there and get on with the review....

Review: Natural Cleansing with Konjac Sponge

Natural Cleansing Konjac Sponge MYR 8.90
( From Sasa )

I know there's been a buzz going on and a love for konjac sponges at this moment. Just type 'konjac sponge' in the search box and there are LOADS of reviews about this, many of which are very positive remarks. And of course, I jumped in the bandwagon as well.

KUU Konjac or Konjac Sponge Company are some of the main 'branded' brands, which markets this natural sponge and they are quite pricey as well. Their prices ranges from MYR 25 to MYR 30 and above, and this is excluding shipping charges!

For me, I managed to find this 'much-talked-about' konjac sponge in Malaysia, at the usual Sasa store, for only MYR 8.90! ( And they are original konjac sponges )

Review: Eucerin pH5 Washlotion Sensitive Skin

Eucerin pH5 Washlotion Sensitive Skin 1000ml RM 58.80
( Promotion Free 200ml Washlotion )

Once a while, I like using drugstore products...provided that it does not contain any harmful ingredients. It's not that I am 'off' from organic products completely...but truth to be told, organic products does not come cheap in Malaysia. My wallet has already taken it's toll and honestly, many products found in drugstores are really value for $$$$. And this is where I discovered this baby.

Many drugstore shoppers can easily identify well known products like Cetaphil or Ego QV, targeted specially for sensitive skin. When I was reading the ingredients, EGO QV and Eucerin seems to contain more friendly ingredients. So I was torn to two but eventually decided with Eucerin because it is much cheaper!

Life is Unexpected.....

Image from mirror.co.uk

I never thought that I would be sharing this post and in the midst of writing, I am still in dazed of events which happened to me a few days ago. No..this is not a death post but rather an awareness post to all.

Let me keep this short and sweet....

What happened was....

A few days ago, I felt tenderness and pain on one of my breast. The feeling is new to me and pretty unusual.

Dehydrated and Dry Skin Due to Negligence

Picture from ipadwallpaper.eu

Last two months ago, I was running on a busy schedule and I caught a bad virus that gave a bad cough, that lasted close to a month. With all these going around, the only skincare regime that I would still do is religiously apply my facial oils and serums, day and night. That is it. If I do the calculations correctly, I think I did my mask and exfoliation only once a month.

When I did my facial recently, my therapist mentioned that my skin was tight, slightly dehydrated and a little more spots than usual. I admit that she was right. My skin was looking dull too. I then realised that doing your weekly mask and exfoliation is crucial, aside from the usual applications of oils and serums. My skin is being in this sorry state because I left this important step.

My Eczema Treatment ( Part 3 ): Pure Aloe Vera Sap

Image from bestsuperfoodlist.com

Many years back, I have heard of what aloe vera can do. I remembered back in the 80's, there was this hype going around with my uncles and parents. They were drinking some liquid 'thing-y' from a fairly large brown bottle that look like this:

I am sure many out there ( from my generation ) would recognise this fella. Yes, my family were quite obsessed with it for a few years, but eventually died down when it has proven too expensive to continue. I, too, eventually forgot about this until recently.

As many would have read from my previous post, I was introduced back to this miracle plant by my TCM ( Traditional Chinese Medicine ) practitioner. Well, she didn't ask me to drink it, but apply the sap topically on my affected area for 2-3 times a day. Little did I know, her advice has been the best discovery of the year!! And that is why, I'm saving this topic for last of my eczema treatment series.

My Eczema Treatment ( Part 2 ): Traditional Chinese Medicine ( TCM )

Picture taken from slinter.com

Suffering from eczema is no fun at all. It comes on and off and it is hard to determine the main source of the problem. Often, we see the culprit mainly from external sources like dust, animal fur, food, pollens or ingredients from skincare products. Very rarely, we pin point the problems to internal reasons. And this is where we need to seek the help from a Traditional Chinese Medicine ( TCM ) practitioner to see what is happening to our body internally.

After a long battle with my eczema and I've decided to turn to TCM after Western medicine failed on me. I had been popping prescribed medicine by my doctor for months and I personally felt that it only helps to control the eczema, not curing it. I figured that this is not very good for my body in a long term basis.

My Eczema Treatment ( Part 1 ): Symptoms and Basic Care

Yup...that's my lips!

If you are a avid reader of my blog, you may know that I was suffering from eczema around my lips area ( some may call it perioral dermatitis ) To those who may not know the full story, do read it HERE. In this post, I am going to sum up the symptoms and basic care ( based on my personal experience ), before moving on to my next post which deals with treatments.

Do you experience odd changes during the time of month?

Picture from flowergallery.com

Before the 'time of the month' comes, I usually experience the usual symptoms like any other girls. Breast tenderness and bloating. I know most girls crave for sweet things before their period but for me personally, I would crave for spicy and salty food. My most reached out 'comfort food' is preferably a bag of chips ( MUST be cheese flavor! ) Funny, isn't it?

I thank God that my skin goes through minimal changes before my period, even though I crave for those 'not so skin friendly' foodies. Even if I do, I get occasional zits, especially at my temple area.

Review: Paul Penders Holy Basil Conditioning Scalp Toner

Paul Penders Holy Basil Conditioning Scalp Toner 180ml AUD 38.50

I have the tendency to invest in quite a number of products for my hair because I do have a history of getting itchy scalp and those annoying dandruff. In my previous post, I reviewed a shampoo that worked pretty well for me to counter the 2 problems. As usual, I like to take a step further to improve the condition of my scalp and this brings me to my purchase of the product above.

I came to know about this when I was trying out some products from Paul Penders and when I was surfing through their site, this looked pretty interesting and lead me to purchase this together with some other products.

Review: Phyto Phytoapaisant Soothing Treatment Shampoo

Phyto Phytoapaisant Soothing Treatment Shampoo 200ml MYR 80.00

I am one that have those 'on off ' dandruff issues and I guess I am not alone in this category. I have tried many shampoos, though I am more reliant to natural based ones. Though I love the Paul Pender's Jasmine Shampoo, I thought it might be a good idea to use it alternately with a treatment shampoo...and this is how I came across this shampoo in one of my shopping days at Sephora.

I am quite familiar with this brand as I have used their dandruff shampoo ages ago. I remembered it gave me good results except that I didn't enjoy it being too 'foam-less'. ( Yes, I was naive then as I did not know that foam-less means it is good for the hair ).

Dressing Up & Styling

I love dressing up and in fact, it runs in my blood. I remember when I was a child, I love drawing and making dresses for my Barbie dolls. Little that I know, I ended up pursuing into the fashion industry in full fledge and it became my career as well.

Years have passed and currently, I am temporarily taking a break from this hectic industry to focus on something else, yet still being in a creative line. Because of this break, I now work from home.

Now, you might think...what is all this about? Ever since I work at home, I didn't really focus on dressing 'fashionably' but rather comfortably, meaning in simple T-shirt and shorts. Being comfortable also means no makeup.

Of late, I realised that I have been slacking on that 'dressing' part and I know I need to rejuvenate back that passion. I gathered all my clothes ( old ones included ) and begin to restyle, mix and match the pieces. In the process, it got my adrenalin going and I was so pumped up. And at last, I smelled SUCCESS!

My most used beauty tool.....

Dariya Front Hair Stabilizer ( Fringe Pad ) MYR 4.90/ 2pcs

In my normal routine, I use a headband to secure my fringes whenever I wash my hair, do my makeup or when I mop the floor. I find it troublesome at times, where the headband is not tight enough to hold my front fringe and I would usually get some stubborn ones that would 'fall' in front of my face.

What seems to be a nuisance has became a norm for me for a couple of years...until I encountered these! I was first 'introduced' to this product when I had my brows done at a cosmetic counter. When the SA put these on my fringes, it was love at first sight for me. I was amazed that it was easy and hold my stubborn fringes in place. I was told that she bought hers from SASA. Wasting no time, I finally went to SASA to get these.

Review: Lip Pure Lip Balm

Lip Pure Lip Balm 4g MYR 11.90

Ever since my eczema case, I would say that I am an avid user of lip balms. Not the ordinary 'petroleum' filled kinda lip balms, but those which are made from natural ingredients. Due to my sensitive condition, I am very careful in finding one that does not further aggravate the sensitivity. I must say that finding one in Malaysia, which only contain 100% natural ones, are hard to find.

Before I chance upon this lip balm, there are many varieties of lip balms, easily available at drugstores. Some are tinted, while some claimed to be completely natural and pure. Unfortunately, the ingredients listed contains loads of synthetic ingredients and the most used ingredient, petroleum or mineral oil.

When I found this one, I was glad that it contained mostly of natural ingredients.

Review: Soapwalla Deodorant Cream

Soapwalla Deodorant Cream 2oz USD 12.00

Good, natural and organic deodorants are hard to find...especially in the country I live in. So, I really thank God for Online Shopping, that makes things easier for me to get what I want.

I was searching high and low for natural based deos ( one that last ) and thanks to Google, I came across Soapwalla's Deodorant Cream in Etsy. This product generally received lots of good reviews and without much hesitation, I quickly place my order because I was desperate...yeah, pits were smelling big time!

Many of you may know, or have read in my blog, that I have trouble finding the 'right' deodorant and many organic or natural based ones that I have used just failed on me. I have read that the majority of natural/ organic based deodorants doesn't work as well as commercial ones and sadly, that is the truth that many claimed. Now, I am really, really hoping that my search will end with this one....

A few months ago, I was given an opportunity to try out some products from Paul Penders. I have heard of Paul Penders two years ago and was rather intrigued but never really gotten the chance to try out their products. Now that these products were sent to me for review purposes, boy, I was glad!

Review: Avene Thermal Spring Water

Avene Thermal Spring Water 50ml x 3 bottles MYR 36.00

When my eczema came back again, my face became more sensitive, especially around my mouth area. During that time, I was still using my Dermalogica toner and because of the sensitivity, this toner seemed to sting the eczema area.

I came across Avene Thermal Spring Water because I have heard so many raves on how it helped to calm sensitive skin and even to healing for some. Many even claimed this to be a Holy Grail item! Yes, I was definitely intrigued and I desperately want to see healing comes on my eczema case.

Feeling like an Ugly Rabbit....

Image from radikalchick.com

Yeah...Of late, I am feeling like the picture above, a bit down and a little unmotivated. Why, you may ask?

Well, many of you may have read that my eczema came back again and unfortunately, at this time of writing, I am still having it and undergoing an alternative treatment currently. ( Will share about it later )

Before seeking the alternative treatment, I was just relying on my antihistamine, which at best, inhabits the itchiness but does nothing to heal it. I know eczema takes a long period to heal but I think after having this for 2 months basically makes me throw in the towel and look for another treatment.

In this post, I am just going to share how I was feeling during these 2 months...

Review: Sebamed Intimate Feminine Wash

Sebamed Feminine Intimate Wash 200ml MYR 24.90

Last week, I shared a topic on feminine washes. After reading some of the articles from sources, it is interesting to note that practitioners actually advises us to " Rinse your external genitals with warm water and use only a mild soap if necessary. "

Why? Because excessive washing, douching or using harsh cleaners and soaps, strips away the protective barrier.

Today's post will be simple, as this is just a review of the feminine wash which I have been using. Read more to find out what I think about this wash...

Do you use feminine washes?

( Image from freefotopia.com )

I first got to know about feminine washes from my cousin sister when I was staying with her during my college days. Before that, I don't even know the existence of feminine washes! I was brought up with the knowledge that 'all we need is soap'. I use the soap for my entire body, face and even hair! Can you believe it? Anyway, those were the days.

So can you imagine the first time when I was introduced to feminine washes? I was like "What?" You even need special gel for that part of the area? I was intrigued and started to use them....and I never looked back.

Sampling: Dermalogica Skin Renewal Booster

Dermalogica Skin Renewal Booster 7ml

This booster was recommended to me by my therapist, as it is said to help ease my blackhead congestion on my nose. Initially I was a bit reluctant because of its contents but willing to try since this is just sample. I mean, more things to try, more things to write on the blog, right?

Anyway, the therapist fore warned me that there could be some irritation due the high content of Lactic Acid and advised me to use only a tiny dot on my nose area. Then, I had a flashback...I told her I had a bad breakout when using their Age Smart Skin Resurfacer, which contained Lactic Acid as well and feared that this might trigger again. She assured me it won't because this is used only on a specific area.

Er...I braced myself and gave in to try this. Just sampling stage..no harm..

How Loyal Are You To Your Skincare Products?

( Image from alphamom.com )

I am writing this topic because of late, I started to reflect back on my personal chronicles on my loyalty to the above matter. First and foremost, I wouldn't say that I am a skincare player, that loves to toy around with different products. When I first started working( with enough dough ), I started with Clinique, Kose, then to Artistry, Aesop to Dermalogica and finally, to MVO products. Looking back, I can say that I am loyal to using a particular brand for a span of 5 years before moving on to another.

But what actually makes me move on to a new brand?

Healthy Eating: Pinto Beans Soup

Image from suzannecarreiro.com

Last two weeks ago, I shared about successfully getting my bowel movement to regular stage, many thanks to the adoption of a much healthier eating lifestyle. One of the main changes I made is including lots of fibers to my diet and drinking lots of homemade nutritious Chinese soups.

One of my favourite soup, which I drink on regular basis is the Pinto Bean Soup. Like all Chinese soups, it is simple to make and extremely nutritious too. Before I share the recipe, here are some informative facts about the goodness of this bean.

Review: Moogoo Milk Wash

Moogoo Milk Wash 500ml MYR 59.00
( PWP Price MYR 49.00 )

In my blog, you may see that I have bought quite a number of items belonging to this brand. Some were positive, while some were not. One of the things that attracted me to this brand is that the ingredients used are of natural origin with no nasty contents. Moreover, it is easily available in our local pharmacies and the prices are not over the top.

There's no other reason why I bought this wash other than the fact that it was on a PWP promotion. Well...I am a sucker for promos and most of the things I bought are mostly on sale or promotional prices.

Review: Once A Week Deodorant Wipes

Once A Week Deodorant 3 Disposable Wipes MYR 8.90

Searching for a good, free from 'nasties' deodorant is like looking for a needle in a haystack in Malaysia. I have tried 2 natural deodorants ever since switching to natural or organic ones... and the results were not positive on me. Tried my own DIY eucalyptus water and it didn't work well either. I've even tried taking supplements, in hopes to rid of the odour but it didn't have any effect on me at all. It left me wondering " Do I have to live smelling like this for the rest of my life?"

Not long ago, a nice reader, Xin, introduced me to this Once A Week Deodorant. It was very effective on her and I've decided to try this one since I am in need of a deodorant alternative real bad. Honestly, I was rather sceptical even before buying this because most deodorants don't work on me at all, even those commercial aluminuim ones like Rexona or Addidas.

So, will this work? Crossing my fingers now....

Choosing a healthier eating lifestyle...

Image from vegan.sheknows.com

Earlier this week, I shared a post on taking Chlorella as supplements, in hopes to get rid of my body odour. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it improved my bowel movements. Seeing that Chlorella helps to cleanse and detoxify the body, I thought to myself " If I were to consume back unhealthy foods, then what is the point to detoxify my body? Better make the most out of it and start to eat healthily.."

That is what I did 2 months back and it really help to boost the health of my digestive tract. I can go almost daily now ( 5-6 times a week ), unlike before, where at most 1-3 times a week or less.

Review: Lifestream Chlorella

Lifestream Chlorella 120 tablets MYR 92.80

I am not much of a fan of taking supplements, mainly because I am quite sceptical amid their fancy marketing write ups. Now, how come I ended up taking this one? Well, I was visiting my local drugstore searching for a natural based deodorant and a kind pharmacist came and assist me. I told her I have tried most of the deos available at the store but delivered no results. She then suggested me to take chlorella as she explains that the odour may be due to my body being toxic. Was I offended? No. She wasn't pushy or anything and I think she was pretty reserved too to even take up the matter to me. She gave me some reading materials and I told her I need to get a good read first before I even consider to purchase.

After searching through the internet and did a quick background check on the company and brand, I returned to the drugstore get a bottle of chlorella.

Review: Moogoo Milk Shampoo

MooGoo Milk Shampoo 500ml MYR 59.90

I have irritated, oily and flaky scalp and it makes it very hard for me to find the right shampoo. After the Esmeria shampoo failed on me ( gave me oily scalp ), I decided to venture out to my fave local drugstore to look for an alternative. I was torn between Sukin and Moogoo, and decided to chose the latter since I've got positive results from using items from the brand. Moreover, at the front of the bottle, it says " Scalp & Hair Friendly-No Itchy Scalp, No Dandruff, Natural Cleansers".

Let's see if this performs.....

Ezema Flare Up....Again

Yes and unfortunately, it strikes again and this time, it seems to be more serious than last year. ( Read HERE ). I never had reoccurrence issues as quick as this time and worse, I don't have any idea what could have triggered this.

I don't have my own pictures to show but one word...it is bad! It looked mostly like this:

( Image taken from American Osteopathic College of Dermatology

In my previous post, you may know that I was having some peeling problems around my lips. Well, one thing led to another, my entire mouth area was having these little tiny bumps, which is dry, scaly and course to touch. The surrounding area was extremely tight too. It would be itchy as well if I were in some hot and humid places. When I apply my Moogoo ezema balm or moisturiser, I could feel a little burning sensation at that area. Made a quick google to see what all these means and it leads to a case of ezema. Some may call it perioral dermatitis, which is a facial rash that tends to occur around the mouth. It can come and go for months or years.

I couldn't take any chances and went to see my doctor and was prescribed with both oral and topical medications. My doctor also gave me a mixture of 1% hydrocortisone with urea cream for topical application. Because hydrocortisone causes skin discoloration with prolonged use, I only apply it once a day. Within 3 days, the inflammation died down and was glad that the area around my mouth was back to normal except the lips.

Wait there is more.....

Removing eye makeup the proper way

Ever since I stumbled into the world of Lisa Eldridge, I have been totally enchanted by her! Her poise, the British accent and the effortless way of her make-up techniques. As I watched this video of hers, horror to my horrors, I realised that I have been removing eye make-up the wrong way all these while. Yikes! My poor delicate eye area have suffered much abuse of constant stretching due to my improper ways.

So, I thought of sharing this, just so make sure that we remove them in the correct manner. If some of you have been following this method all these while, I envy you. Yes I do:) But to those who have been removing them the incorrect way, don't fret. Join the boat. Just remember, it's never too late to learn.

Review: Clinelle Eye & Lip Makeup Remover

Clinelle Eye & Lip Makeup Remover 80ml MYR 33.90

I have been wearing makeup lately, especially in the weekends..and LOVING IT as well. Though it's all fun and lovely, I never forget the importance of removing them thoroughly at the end of the day. I always rely on my trusty L'occitane Fresh Face Water to do the job well.

For the eyes, I always fall back on my Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover. Though it is not of organic ingredients, it does the job effectively. It was running low and I decided to venture out to try other natural based and cheaper alternatives. And I found Clinelle. I have used some of the products from this brand in the past and it's not bad...and some not too great either. Well, let's see if this does the job...

DIY: All Purpose Eucalyptus Water

A couple of months ago, I wrote about Eucalyptus Oil and It's Uses and I thought this is a good time for me to share what I have been using it for.

To summarize, Eucalyptus oil is one of the most powerful antiseptic with several disinfectant properties. Its powerful anti-bacteria properties helps to relief and soothe pains.

I whipped up a simple concoction of:

100ml water + 3 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil + 2 drops of Lavender Essential Oil

.....and bottled up the concoction in my hubby's empty glass perfume bottle.

Review: DeVita Revitalizing Eye Lift Creme

DeVita Revitalizing Eye Lift Creme 30ml USD 18.86
( With Coupon Code, price is USD 16.36/ MYR 52.75 )

I was looking for a good but wallet friendly eye cream in iHerb and I was happy that DeVita is available through them. I came across this brand last year and they are quite famed for their Moisturizing Sunscreen. Seeing that DeVita is a all-natural, 100% Paraben Free, PETA Certified and Vegan cosmeceutical skin care line, it didn't make me worry much when I placed an order at iHerb for this eye cream.

It was also my first time shopping at iHerb and boy, I am rather happy to find this site. Their prices offered are much less than other websites and better yet,  I've got additional discount too when using the coupon code. For first time buyers like me, the extra discount of $5.00 off did helped to save some $$$ in the shipping costs.

Now, let's look at their product description shall we...

Sealing In Your Serums with A Moisturiser

Image from guardian.co.uk

A couple of years back, my normal skincare regime was basically: Cleanse > Tone > Moisturise. Yup, I have been doing the same routine for 4 years and many of you may have read HERE on how my skin condition was before introducing serums and oils to my regime.

I basically left out my moisturiser in the corner when I first started to use serums and oils. I was at an 'anti-moisturiser' moment when I discovered that many moisturisers does contain pore clogging ingredients and I just wanted to feed my skin with good ingredients, found mostly in my current serums and oils.

My skin was happy indeed with my new found regime and better yet, after incorporating my weekly hydrating yoghurt mask. Though my skin is better hydrated now than before, I feel bad to just ignore my moisturiser totally and...I don't like wastage. Might as well use it, right? I heard from other beauty bloggers that mentions that applying moisturisers on top of serums helps to optimise and seal in the goodness of the serums and provides extra hydration.

( Part 2 ) Treating My Dry & Chapped Lips: Shea Butter

L'Occitane Pure Shea Butter 8ml MYR 60
( Comes in two )

Continuing from my previous post, you may have read that my lips were somewhat, in a bad state. It was peeling and bleeding, and I was feeling a bit uncomfortable especially if I were to drink hot soupy things..and what more, if I were to eat spicy foods and citrus fruits, it will really sting my sensitive lips!

Though my doctor could not diagnose what is causing this, I have a very strong feeling that it is the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Lotion, which I have been consistently using it every morning since November. I did remember that when I do the lotion mask with this, in a weeks time, I would develop some mild irritation on my upper lips. So the culprit could be this fella.

Anyway, because I was so desperate to soothe my lips area, I went and bought two lip balms. The first was the Eucerin Lip Active and the second one, pure Shea Butter from L'Occitane. The main reason I went for this Shea Butter from L'Occitane because I wanted something which is pure and moisturising for my sensitive lips area.

Product Description

Travel-size tin of 100% Shea Butter hydrates and protects lips, face, cuticles and hands. This powerful moisturiser is retrieved from the fruit of African Shea trees, and celebrated world-wide for encouraging cellular renewal and repairing the hydrolipidic film, thereby softening, soothing and comforting skin. Non-irritating; suitable for men, women and children.

Back in December, my lips were in pretty bad condition. It first started with some little tiny dots on my upper lips and later in a few weeks, my entire lip area went dry, red and the skin surrounding it began to peel off...and it bled!

Off I went to see the doctor but he could not determine what could have caused it because rashes or allergy is pretty tricky. At that time, I conditioned it with my 'almost finished ' Moogoo lipbalm and surprisingly, this time, it did nothing at all. So, new opportunity arises to go hunting for another safe and reliable lip balm. This time, I bought 2! The first one that I bought is this....

Eucerin Sensitive Skin Lip Active 4.8g MYR 13.40

I chose Eucerin over the rest because I personally find this brand to be pretty reliable. I am currently using  their Dermatoclean Cleansing Milk and loving it a lot. This brand score big in my books because it is especially catered to those who have sensitive skin.

Review: Dermalogica UltraCalming Cleanser

Dermalogica UltraCalming Cleanser 500ml

After repurchasing my 7th bottle of this cleanser, I knew it's about time for me to post this review of my all-time and STAPLE cleanser. Now, I know some of you might say " Dermalogica...again?". I know...I know, this brand seems to be not as appealing as other brands in the market. Probably one of the reasons is that it has been in the market for years and some have grown tired of hearing about this brand...again.

In all honesty, when I was first introduced to this brand, I wasn't that keen. First was the packaging. It didn't appeal to me as much as the apothecary styled bottles like Aesop or MVO. Those just automatically shout out " Buy me! Buy me!" from the shelves. Well...for this, it was like..boring and meh.

Secondly, it is expensive. I usually go for cleansers that is priced below MYR 50. Yes, I did indulged in Aesop cleansers before but paying above MYR 200 for a cleanser is way over the top for me. Because I needed to see changes on my skin, I bulked and purchased some other products when I signed up with their facial programme. Now let's look at what this product have to say...

Are you washing your hair the proper way?

( Image source from web )

I am sure many of you would say "Hey, that's easy peesy. Just squirt a good amount of shampoo to the hair, add some water and wash away...". The more it lathers, the cleaner your hair will be, right? Errr...well, more suds doesn't mean it's good for you. The greater it foams means the greater SLS agents are in the products.

Ever since I started switching to more organic or natural based products, one thing I noticed is it does not lather as much as normal drug store ones. Drug store brands typically include more "bubble making" agents to create lather because we all like lathers. Foams or lathers somehow give us an assurance that all the dirt and grime are washed away.

Review: Melvita Deodorant Spray

Melvita Deodorant Spray 50ml MYR 77.00

When I heard that Melvita has landed in Malaysia, I went "Hurray!". I have heard loads about this brand, firstly being a pioneer in organic cosmetics and has grown to become one of France's leading brands of natural and organic cosmetics. Among their wide range, I was particularly interested in their beauty oils. Their oil range is pretty impressive. Because I am still loving my MVO Anti-Aging Oil, I've decided not to invest in their beauty oil range yet but their deodorant ( since I have stopped using the Moogoo deodorant ).
