Review: Antipodes Saviour Skin Balm

Antipodes Saviour Skin Balm 75g MYR 178

Though I have heard of Antipodes many months ago, I didn't really get the opportunity to try them...until recently. I was actually hunting for an "all in one" balm, in hopes to treat my dry lips, hands and feet. And this one fits perfectly in what I was looking for...well, except for its price! Let's see if this perfect remedy played well for me...

Review: Eucerin pH5 Washlotion Sensitive Skin

Eucerin pH5 Washlotion Sensitive Skin 1000ml RM 58.80
( Promotion Free 200ml Washlotion )

Once a while, I like using drugstore products...provided that it does not contain any harmful ingredients. It's not that I am 'off' from organic products completely...but truth to be told, organic products does not come cheap in Malaysia. My wallet has already taken it's toll and honestly, many products found in drugstores are really value for $$$$. And this is where I discovered this baby.

Many drugstore shoppers can easily identify well known products like Cetaphil or Ego QV, targeted specially for sensitive skin. When I was reading the ingredients, EGO QV and Eucerin seems to contain more friendly ingredients. So I was torn to two but eventually decided with Eucerin because it is much cheaper!

Review: Soapwalla Deodorant Cream

Soapwalla Deodorant Cream 2oz USD 12.00

Good, natural and organic deodorants are hard to find...especially in the country I live in. So, I really thank God for Online Shopping, that makes things easier for me to get what I want.

I was searching high and low for natural based deos ( one that last ) and thanks to Google, I came across Soapwalla's Deodorant Cream in Etsy. This product generally received lots of good reviews and without much hesitation, I quickly place my order because I was desperate...yeah, pits were smelling big time!

Many of you may know, or have read in my blog, that I have trouble finding the 'right' deodorant and many organic or natural based ones that I have used just failed on me. I have read that the majority of natural/ organic based deodorants doesn't work as well as commercial ones and sadly, that is the truth that many claimed. Now, I am really, really hoping that my search will end with this one....

Review: Sebamed Intimate Feminine Wash

Sebamed Feminine Intimate Wash 200ml MYR 24.90

Last week, I shared a topic on feminine washes. After reading some of the articles from sources, it is interesting to note that practitioners actually advises us to " Rinse your external genitals with warm water and use only a mild soap if necessary. "

Why? Because excessive washing, douching or using harsh cleaners and soaps, strips away the protective barrier.

Today's post will be simple, as this is just a review of the feminine wash which I have been using. Read more to find out what I think about this wash...

Do you use feminine washes?

( Image from freefotopia.com )

I first got to know about feminine washes from my cousin sister when I was staying with her during my college days. Before that, I don't even know the existence of feminine washes! I was brought up with the knowledge that 'all we need is soap'. I use the soap for my entire body, face and even hair! Can you believe it? Anyway, those were the days.

So can you imagine the first time when I was introduced to feminine washes? I was like "What?" You even need special gel for that part of the area? I was intrigued and started to use them....and I never looked back.

Review: Moogoo Milk Wash

Moogoo Milk Wash 500ml MYR 59.00
( PWP Price MYR 49.00 )

In my blog, you may see that I have bought quite a number of items belonging to this brand. Some were positive, while some were not. One of the things that attracted me to this brand is that the ingredients used are of natural origin with no nasty contents. Moreover, it is easily available in our local pharmacies and the prices are not over the top.

There's no other reason why I bought this wash other than the fact that it was on a PWP promotion. Well...I am a sucker for promos and most of the things I bought are mostly on sale or promotional prices.

Review: Melvita Deodorant Spray

Melvita Deodorant Spray 50ml MYR 77.00

When I heard that Melvita has landed in Malaysia, I went "Hurray!". I have heard loads about this brand, firstly being a pioneer in organic cosmetics and has grown to become one of France's leading brands of natural and organic cosmetics. Among their wide range, I was particularly interested in their beauty oils. Their oil range is pretty impressive. Because I am still loving my MVO Anti-Aging Oil, I've decided not to invest in their beauty oil range yet but their deodorant ( since I have stopped using the Moogoo deodorant ).

Product Description

Review: MVO Rose & Neroli Anti Aging Body Oil

MVO Anti-Aging Body Oil ( Rose & Neroli ) 60ml USD 36

I have been a fan of body oils since last year and it never fails to give me smooth, supple skin every time. I have used Weleda and currently using my DIY body oil, which I love because it is equally as good and cheap too!

Last year, during my MVO hauls, I bought a bottle of their Rose and Neroli body oil mainly because I need to hit the 'free shipping' minimum. I guess it's fine because I use body oils everyday. This one would be considered a 'luxury' for me cos this the most expensive body oil I've purchase to date.

Continue to read the rest of the post to know if this performs as good as my DIY body oil...

Review: Burt's Bees Citrus & Ginger Root Body Wash

Burt's Bees Citrus & Ginger Root Body Wash 350ml RM 55.90

Burt's Bees in Malaysia have this recycling program that runs on every 31st of the month, where you can get 20% discount on the next purchase with every empty bottle returned. I like that they have this program because it encourages on recycling and also...I get a discount! :)

I purchased this when I ran out of my favourite Baby Bees Body Wash and the promoter also promises that all my 'daki-daki' ( accumulated dead skin ) will be washed off by this. Sounds very exaggerated, isn't it? Now let's put this to a test and see if it works, just like the promoter said, shall we?

Review: The Body Shop Spa Wisdom Ximenia & Salt Scrub

TBS Spa Wisdom Ximenia & Salt Scrub 350ml MYR 99.00
Daiso Wooden Spoon 2 pcs MYR 5.00

Every woman likes to pamper themselves once in a while. Ironically, my simple form of pampering is giving myself a good body scrub. Since I am using body oils at the moment, I was thinking "Why not I get myself a good body scrub to slough off all the dead skin so that my skin would look FA-BU-LOUS!"

Off I go for some body scrub hunting and my, my....body scrubs don't come in cheap these days. So I resort to step into The Body Shop ( by the way, it's been AGES since I step into this shop ). The last item I ever bought from The Body Shop was those cute little perfume bottles, which since has been a discontinued item. Yes...you can imagine, it's been more than 10 years.

To cut the long story short, among their range of body scrubs, this one appeals to me the most, mainly because of the scent. This scent is identical to the body balm, which was given to me by a friend, and used during my uni days.

DIY: My Neroli Body Oil

I discovered my love for body oils when I first bought my first bottle from Weleda. I love body oils and I find that it works so much better than body lotion. I love applying them after shower at night and the next morning, you willl wake up with smooth and supple skin.

This time, I decided to be a little adventurous by doing my own body oil when I ran out of my Weleda and Burt's Bees oils. I did a little research on DIY sites and found the right percentage by incorporating my favourite carrier and essential oils.

I like oils that are moisturising, regenerative and anti-oxidant..and that is why I choose the oils below for my body oil. Feel free to select any carrier oils of your choice or anything that is suitable for you should you like to embark on doing your own DIY body oil.

My carrier oils are:

Jojoba Gold Oil- Moisturising and anti-oxidant.
Avocado Oil- Regenerative with vitamins A, B, D and E, emollient, slows aging, repairing, stimulates collagen.
Apricot Kernel Oil- Vitamins A and E, absorbs well, soothing and moisturising.

Review: EO Everyday Shampoo and EO Soothing Shower Gel

EO Everyday Shampoo French Lavender 250ml SGD 18.50 / RM 46.80
Sample EO Soothing Shower Gel French Lavender

I just adore the smell of lavender and any product which carries the scent of lavender, will be the first to be picked up by me. This scent really puts me in a calming and relaxing mode, which I am so in need of those these days.

I picked up this shampoo during my July haul from Milagro Trading as I have heard some pretty good reviews about this product. I was also interested in trying their shower gel and was pretty happy that Milagro Trading managed to give me a sample of this for me to try.

I am pretty new to EO, though they have been around for 16 years and hails from Marin County, CA of USA. EO is a family owned and operated, Certified Organic Manufacturer of personal care products using the highest grade of natural and certified organic ingredients. EO products certainly sounds pretty impressive and does their product worked well for me?

My bad case of allergy and what helped me

Some of those who follow my blog may know that I had a bad case of allergy on my face due to a new product which I have been trying. Initially, I was in denial of the fact that it gave me rashes because I adore the ingredients of that product. It all looked very promising. In fact, in the first few days that I used it, it really gave me wonderful plumped up face and it somewhat amped up the radiant look.

To cut the long story short, after trying at least three times on and off again, it is concluded that the product is not suitable for me because it gave me tiny little red rashes on my eyes, chin and nasalabial fold ( near my nose ) area. And it is itchy as well! Not only that it gave me rashes, it cause me to breakouts as well.

This incident brings me back to the same experience I have when I use Dermalogica's Age Smart Skin Resurfacer. It gave me the same tiny little red rashes at the same spot as mentioned above. It was that bad that I had to see a doctor and was given some medication and hydrocartisone cream ( a steroid based cream to reduce inflammation ).

I am not comfortable to using hydrocartisone cream on my face as there are several side effects, which one of them causes thinning and discoloration to the skin. I certainly don't want to see dark patches on my face!
On route to my search for natural based products, I am very thankful that I purchased a great and wonderful cream from Moogoo a few months back and ta-da, this product saved my skin!

Review: Burt's Bee Baby Bee Shampoo and Wash

Burt's Bee Baby Bee Shampoo and Wash 350ml RM 62.60
( Bought this during their threesome promo ( Buy 2 free 1 ) Promo Price RM 41.60 )

Many of us in Malaysia are quite familiar with brands like The Body Shop, L'occitane, Kiehl's but Burt's Bees? This brand is still relatively new in our land despite that they have been operating for more than a year now. I've heard of this brand over the internet but never really went into their shop ( at the Curve ) to browse their stuff..until recently. My Madara Cleansing Milk is used up and I am eager to look for a replacement. I have heard mixed reviews but relatively good comments about their Radiance Facial Cleanser and decided to hit to the store and check it out. To my dismay, their cleanser is out of stock! Anyway, left my details with them so they would call me once it's in ( to date, I haven't received the call ) but they sms me saying they are having the buy 2 free 1 promo. So I made my research over the net, went to the store with my list and made a small haul..only on the baby range.

Review: Moogoo Udder Cream

MooGoo Udder Cream 120ml RM 39.90

Last 2 months ago, I went on a mini MooGoo haul as I heard many postive reviews on this brand. I really liked it that they are an all natural brand and many people with skin conditions like ezcema or with sensitive skin, benefitted from their product. One day, when I visited my favourite pharmacy searching for a replacement for my hand cream, they had a promotion for MooGoo Udder Cream that sells for RM 29.90. Any quick thinking shopper who is eyeing on this product ( like me ) would be silly to pass this off, right?

How MooGoo was Born?
MooGoo was first made when the founder adapted a cream used in dairy farms to help a family member with a skin problem in Queensland, Australia. The dairy version of "udder cream" was designed to heal the cow's udders and keep them in good condition for milking. It was full of skin repair ingredients and no gimmicks. Cows don't care too much about the latest fad in skin care, or even "Organic blends of Horsetail and Bergamot..." They do need healthy skin on their most valuable assets.

Although the original cream used in the dairy farms was legendary for its skin healing properties, it was thick and greasy. MooGoo modified the cream for human use by keeping all the skin healing properties but making it non-greasy.

Friends and neighbours started using the creams. It is amazing just how many people came out of the woodwork that had either very sensitive skin, or some sort of problem for which "nothing works". Since then, many other products have been added for people with sensitive skin and scalps and MooGoo was born.

Review: Lucas' Papaw Ointment

Lucas' Papaw Ointment 25g RM 18.90

I am plagued with dry hands almost all my life and I do have severe peeling around my nail area, which bleeds rather frequently. I must admit that when the skin is dried up and peeling, more often than not, I would nip them as it really irritates me that much! By doing this often, it had somehow developed into a habit...a bad one I must say. I had tried many handcreams and ointments but Savlon antiseptic cream seemed to be the one that worked for me. It gently calms and heals the affected area but it sadly, it doesn't offer moisturization. So, as I was browsing through the shelves on my trip to my favourite pharmacy, I spotted Lucas' Papaw Ointment and it seem that this ointment is traditionally used as a local topical application for symptomatic relief of minor cuts, wounds and insect bites. Seemed decent and why not, I decide to purchase it, in hopes that it will be a better replacement for my Savlon.

Review: Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil 20ml RM 66.00

Recently, I have been fascinated by oils, be it essential oils or carrier oils, ever since I had my MVO Anti Aging Oil. When I got hold of my MVO Oil, I start to do a research on the web to have a better understanding of how each properties of the oil can benefit your skin. I can tell you that I am simply amazed. Among the oils, one really stand out for me is Rosehip Oils. The benefits certainly stood out from the rest and seemed suitable to what I am looking for. To me, it's like an all-rounder oil, which is skin regeneration oil.
