Review: Phyto Phytoapaisant Soothing Treatment Shampoo

Phyto Phytoapaisant Soothing Treatment Shampoo 200ml MYR 80.00

I am one that have those 'on off ' dandruff issues and I guess I am not alone in this category. I have tried many shampoos, though I am more reliant to natural based ones. Though I love the Paul Pender's Jasmine Shampoo, I thought it might be a good idea to use it alternately with a treatment shampoo...and this is how I came across this shampoo in one of my shopping days at Sephora.

I am quite familiar with this brand as I have used their dandruff shampoo ages ago. I remembered it gave me good results except that I didn't enjoy it being too 'foam-less'. ( Yes, I was naive then as I did not know that foam-less means it is good for the hair ).

Product Description

Revitalise your hair with the Phyto Phytoapaisant Soothing Treatment Shampoo. This calming product leaves your hair and scalp soft and supple, without weighing it down. It is perfect for those seeking relief from irritated, sensitised and dry scalps.
The Phyto Phytoapaisant Soothing Treatment Shampoo is formulated with Progenium, which will effectively protect your scalp’s ecosystem and enhance your hair’s natural beauty. It also contains a combination of lime, passion flower and shiitake extracts, which are known for their calming and soothing properties.

My Experience

The shampoo comes in a nice tin packaging, which adds a nice touch to my boring bathroom because it is rather exquisite looking. The shampoo itself has a clear, runny liquid, with a slight tinge of pink and smells pleasantly nice! I love that it has a nice, clean scent to it!

Because this is a natural based shampoo, the foaming agents is unlike any conventional shampoos. In my normal routine when using natural based shampoos, I would usually wash my hair twice, beginning at my scalp and secondly from scalp to hair ends.

After rinsing, I find that this shampoo cleans my hair relatively well, except that I get this really squeaky clean feeling. Afraid that it might make my hair dry, I follow up with my conditioner in my final rinse.

After 2 weeks, I find that my scalp is not as itchy as before and my dandruff is reduced to 90%! My hair doesn't look limp or lifeless and my scalp is less oily too..It was unbelievable actually. Too good to be true?

Though I experienced good hair days while using this shampoo, I also found out that if I were to use it 2 weeks straight in a row, it will leave my hair end feeling dry and straw-y. Hmm...not such a good sigh, eh? To eliminate this problem, I now use it alternately with my Paul Pender's Shampoo.

Besides the tendency to leave your hair at a drier side, I would say that this shampoo gets a thumbs up from me. I like that it controls my dandruff and oil very well. My hair feels less itch that sometimes, I can go 2 days without washing my hair:P

This item was purchased by me for my personal purposes. This review is based on my honest and personal experience with this product and is not influenced by any parties.

  1. I don't have dandruff but I had very itchy scalp for some time. I try all kinds of shampoo for itchy scalp but they were all fruitless. Then I tried rubbing camellia and a little rosemary EO together for a couple days and the itchy went away. Also I tried this DIY

    1. Hi Dawn:)))) How are you! Thanks for your rosemary recommendation. Will certainly try! Some time ago, I tried to be smart and use Lavender oil to my scalp, in hopes to solve the itchiness problem. It was bad for me, it itch tremendously and made my dandruff worse.
I do believe in aloe vera gel as remedy, in fact I am writing one post all about it. Take care!

  2. I'm so gonna get this shampoo later as I'm desperate. Arrrgh, recently been having really bad dandruff. My scalp is so irritated and it's flaking like crazy. It calmed down a bit last night after applying emu oil + rosemary EO on my scalp but I'm thinking it's really my shampoo that needs some changing.

    1. Hi Vivi! Sorry to hear that you are suffering from really bad dandruff. I know exactly how it feels. Hope this works for you.:)

  3. I think I'm gonna try this too. My scalp itches always! It's the worst. Somedays I can't help but to claw at my already sensitive scalp because it can get insane. I'm hoping to try this and it actually works for both the itchiness and my dandruff. Thanks for the suggestion.

    1. Hi Audreiana! Oh...definitely know how you feel about clawing those itchy scalp:) This soothing treatment shampoo is rather hard for me to find in M'sia. I bought mine at Sephora. Though I spot this brand in Sasa, they fail to sell this particular one.
