A couple of months ago, I wrote about Eucalyptus Oil and It's Uses and I thought this is a good time for me to share what I have been using it for.
To summarize, Eucalyptus oil is one of the most powerful antiseptic with several disinfectant properties. Its powerful anti-bacteria properties helps to relief and soothe pains.
I whipped up a simple concoction of:
100ml water + 3 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil + 2 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
.....and bottled up the concoction in my hubby's empty glass perfume bottle.
As Room Disinfectant/ Natural Refreshener
Most of the time, I mainly use it as a room disinfectant or at times, use it to mask out unpleasant smells. I find that it works really well because I once use it when my hubby was sick with fever and flu. I personally felt that the air in the room was slightly thick and musty, and I don't want to risk being infected, seeing that I need to take care of him. :) Plus, if the air is cleaner or purified, I see higher chances of him getting well...soon! Well, my hubby eventually got well 3 days after and thank God, I didn't caught the flu bug.
I also use it as a air refresher, should anyone uses the bathroom. I am quite sensitive to smells and a couple of squirts of the little mixture does work wonders. The spray is like my little wand to remove the unpleasant smells!
Next, I experimented it as my deodorant. At night, I squirt some of the mixture unto a cotton pad and wipe it to my pits. I am happy to report that I did not smell any unpleasant smell at all the next day! I reapply again in the morning and wow...this controlled the smell much better than Melvita's!
However, just as I thought I found a HG deodorant, my hopes were dashed after 1 week of usage. The effect is not long lasting as before and the smell came back. :( Its funny that new products seemed to worked well for me for a couple of days and later, my body is automatically immune to it all together.
Other than the above, this concoction is handy to use too when you need to wipe your tables, kitchen tops or even toilet seats just to make sure it is properly disinfected. This is perfect because it is non-toxic and is an environmentally friendly way to clean.:)
