Review: Sebamed Intimate Feminine Wash

Sebamed Feminine Intimate Wash 200ml MYR 24.90

Last week, I shared a topic on feminine washes. After reading some of the articles from sources, it is interesting to note that practitioners actually advises us to " Rinse your external genitals with warm water and use only a mild soap if necessary. "

Why? Because excessive washing, douching or using harsh cleaners and soaps, strips away the protective barrier.

Today's post will be simple, as this is just a review of the feminine wash which I have been using. Read more to find out what I think about this wash...

My Experience

In my previous post, I've mentioned that I have been using this product for a few years now, even before I started to go for organic/ natural based products. As I was posting the contents, I was a bit dismayed to find that SLS falls in the third place in the ingredients listing. So, before anyone who ( likes to be judgemental ) on this review, may I stress that this product is not organic. It does contain some natural ingredients but not entirely either.

The wash itself is clear and has a semi runny consistency. It has a mild scent to it and foams well, even when I use a small amount of it. This wash does not require a douching equipment and it is used to wash externally, just like as you would to wash your body. I find that this wash does keep the odour under control, especially during "the time of the month".

After reading the article about using mild washes for our feminine area, I use this very sparingly now. The contents of this wash has also made me 'rethink' about using this often and even to the point of repurchasing.

Overall

Ingredients aside, I was rather pleased that this wash helped to control the odour and I do feel 'clean' after using this. However, I think this wash will be my last bottle ( after finding out the ingredients ) and at the time being, warm water, as per practitioner's advise, will be the best option to clean and rinse our area.

This item was purchased by me for my personal purposes. This review is based on my honest and personal experience with this product and is not influenced by any parties.

  2. Problems in the vulvar region can affect the vagina, and vice versa, so it is important to keep the skin of the external intimate area clean and healthy. Using 1m intimate cream wash is another good option.

  3. This product doesn't contain SLS. That's Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Should not be confused with Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is SLES! From what I read, it is very much more mild compared to SLS and highly unlikely to cause allergic reactions. I have been using Sebamed's Intimate Wash as well and it is definitely my go-to product for feminine hygiene.
