Review: Burt's Bee Baby Bee Shampoo and Wash

Burt's Bee Baby Bee Shampoo and Wash 350ml RM 62.60
( Bought this during their threesome promo ( Buy 2 free 1 ) Promo Price RM 41.60 )

Many of us in Malaysia are quite familiar with brands like The Body Shop, L'occitane, Kiehl's but Burt's Bees? This brand is still relatively new in our land despite that they have been operating for more than a year now. I've heard of this brand over the internet but never really went into their shop ( at the Curve ) to browse their stuff..until recently. My Madara Cleansing Milk is used up and I am eager to look for a replacement. I have heard mixed reviews but relatively good comments about their Radiance Facial Cleanser and decided to hit to the store and check it out. To my dismay, their cleanser is out of stock! Anyway, left my details with them so they would call me once it's in ( to date, I haven't received the call ) but they sms me saying they are having the buy 2 free 1 promo. So I made my research over the net, went to the store with my list and made a small haul..only on the baby range.

The company's profile is rather long to simplfy it so in short, Burt's Bees strive to make people's lives better every day — naturally.

Product Description

Our plant-based cleansing complex is naturally foaming and tear-free. Clinically proven to be gentle enough for everyday use, this non-irritating formula leaves baby's skin and hair looking and feeling clean, silky, soft and healthy. Pediatrician-tested. Hypo-allergenic. Sulfate-, phthalate-, petrochemical- and paraben-free.

Ingredients: aqua (water, eau), decyl glucoside, coco-betaine, lauryl glucoside, sucrose laurate, glycerin, parfum (fragrance), betaine, sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed soy protein, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, sodium chloride, xanthan gum, glucose, citric acid, glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase, limonene.

* Note that this is not an organic product but a natural based product because it contains parfum. I am not so really bothered by that because this is just a body wash.

My Experience

This shampoo and wash is a slighty transparent runny gel, with a tint of yellow and smells like honey with vanilla. It doesn't foam much but works wonderfully as a body wash. Not only that it smells divine and leave you feeling comforted by the scent, it leaves my skin moisturised, comfortable with no tightening effect. I actually prefer this to Bud's and Esmeria.

But as I tried it as a shampoo, Esmeria is better suited for me. It makes my hair feel course while washing and you definately need a conditioner. However, I like the light, clean, soft and the wonderful scent after blow drying my hair. I used this again on my second attempt and concludes that it is much better to use solely as a body wash as it was drying up my hair.

Overall

This is my current favourite body wash and I am giving it a 4.5 over 5 because it really leaves my skin feeling soft, moisturised and smelling wonderful. However, a bottle of this wash can only last me for a month and a half with daily use. Though I love it, I think I will repurchase this only if they have any sale or promo for their products.

This item was purchased by me for my personal purposes. This review is based on my honest and personal experience with this product and is not influenced by any parties.

  1. Hi there, thank you for writing many of your reviews :)

I recently came to know that Burt's Bees is under the Clorox company

In your opinion, do you think there will be any implication to the Burt's Bee's product line being compromised?

    1. Even though Burt Bees is under Clorox, I don't see it as a hindrance for me to try Burt Bees. I look into the ingredients and as long as it worked fine for me, I don't see why I should stop using it.
