Review: Moogoo Lip Balm ( Edible )

Moogoo Lip Balm ( Edible ) 5g RM14.90

How many of us have come across lip balms that are edible? Any hands up? Well, for me, it's the first! In my lifetime, I don't own a lot of lipbalms. My first was the classic Vasaline, then comes the much raved Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 and this is my third one. I am pretty lazy when it comes to applying lip balms because mainly, I dislike the 'petroleum' wax that coats my lips after use and secondly, I would always have the tendency to forget that I actually own one lip balm! So lip balms are not the 'must have' item on my list. The reason I bought this was that I have been having some rashes on my lips and I have no idea what was the cause until now. Easy way out...blame it on hormonal changes???? Anyway, find out more if this lippy helped in my rashes.

Moogoo's take on their balms

These lip balms were formulated after reading the ingredients on a lip balm we used ourselves during a long car trip. The feel of the lip balms we used to use were great. The chemicals used were not. Especially on lips where most of the product is eventually eaten. Chemicals can build up in the body over time.  What for years might be harmless, can all of a sudden cause a reaction.
We have made a lip balms that feel similar to our favorite lip balms from before. However, because we make it for our own use, the ingredients are all edible.

Product Description

Do you just need a safe lip moisturiser without chemicals? This is perfect. Honey and rich emollient oils condition and soften the lips. Allantoin helps the repair of minor cuts and Mandarin Essential Oil...well it just tastes nice.
Ingredients: Beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil, Soybean Oil, Castor Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sesame Oil, Vitamin E, Allantoin, Cold Pressed Mandarin Oil.

My Experience

My previous lipbalms are always in a tube form, which I can squeeze a tiny amount for my lips. This is different because this is more of a lip 'stick'. I've always felt that using tube for lip balms is more hygenic to sticks. I certainly don't like to see any 'leftovers' of food on my lipstick. This is my personal opinion, though.

This lip balm have a lovely, fresh scent of mandarin and it is lovely to apply on lips. I would usually use this at night but since I was currently having some rashes on my lips, I would apply it in the morning too. I like that this lip balm keeps my lips moisturized throughout the day and I don't experience any heavy coating on my lips. Perfect! Does it help on solving my rashes problem? Er, not quite though. By using pure rosehip oil on my lips helped me though.

Overall

Though it didn't fix my rashes problem, I like this as a general moisturizing balm for my lips so to keep the dry and chapped lips at bay. Love it when my lips are supple and moist! The price is pretty reasonable, considering that the ingredients are very natural. I would rate this 3.5 over 5. The only downside of this product is that it is only available online.
